Good trick; promising to increase visible policing while shedding another 20 officers: https://stratfordobserver.co.uk/news...e-rise-in-tax/
900 front-line officers for an area the size of Warwickshire isn't particularly good. Take into account, time off and sickness and it starts looking a bit thin... especially overnight.

And here we have it: https://stratfordobserver.co.uk/news...entre-streets/
Civilians (busybodies/dogooders/vigilinties/'we didn't have these problems in my day'-ers?) in high-vis jackets waving at CCTV cameras, trying to attract the attention of the area's 2 available police officers (who are, presumably, enjoying a cuppa in the station with their feet up instead of patrolling the streets).
Even less policing - a lot of it's going to be dealt with over the phone: https://www.leamingtoncourier.co.uk/...ears-1-8613136
This is going to lead to 'selective' policing, which I didn't think the police were allowed to do. As far as I know, a crime is a crime and the police are supposed to investigate it.

What station ? most of them have gone.
The one in Bedworth is just token cop shop..the lights are on but no-ones there.

It takes time for things to move.
A mate of mine was a PCSO. The tales he has told me are almost unbelievable. Much of the problem that we currently see is deliberately manufactured by the police management grades, rather than due to government cuts.

So much for the policing model: https://stratfordobserver.co.uk/news...ickshire-9307/
Absolutely shocking. To my mind this amounts to selective policing, which isn't on. The police should not be selecting which crimes they investigate, but should investigate each and every one reported. What they are in fact doing is downgrading some crimes.
But of course, this is only half the story. Of the crimes that they do deign to investigate, how many result in a conviction?

I hope the money raised selling Leek Wootton is put to good use: https://www.rugbyadvertiser.co.uk/ne...-off-1-8702746
That is a lovely old building, I bet the police were sad to move out.
Well, whilst walking the dog tonight I saw a car that has repeatedly obstructed the footpath being taken away. Hopefully the message will get out to the other imbeciles that do the same. Nothing wrong with parking a couple of wheels on the footpath, but leave room for pedestrians!

The PCC is making positive noises, but we'll see how it goes: https://stratfordobserver.co.uk/news...e-split-10305/
