We had a light dusting of snow and it is biting cold now. I went up town early this morning and saw this homeless chap sleeping a doorway under a duvet, he must have been freezing cold because he was restless and trying to wrap the duvet round himself more. Anyway, I asked if I could get him a hot drink, or some, he said thanks yes, a hot chocolate. So I went into Greggs and got him a large hot chocolate and a hot sausage, bean and cheese pastry thing. He was very glad of it and thanked me. I don't always, do that, but I think I could make it a regular thing in this perishing cold.

Very good of you Finebyme. Not all rough sleepers are frauds.

Yes, I think we get to know the genuine ones, well we hope anyway.

I remember in the summer there was a guy sitting begging. I asked him what made him homeless, he said he got a divorce and nowhere to stay, I just don't know with that one he was a newby around town, and hadn't seen him since. I rather like to think it is more practical give them something like food or a sleeping bag, but most of them just want money.

After a divorce I was left homeless. As a single white male you get no help whatsoever. I quickly bought a place before the CSA tried to bleed me dry. Prior to buying, I was renting a room in the red-light area of the city. - Very nice!

I continued my battles with the man haters at the CSA until my youngest left school and eventually got all the money back that they had illegally taken from me. I didn't get any interest though, nor did I get an apology. But, continuing their incompetence, they send much of what was owed to me to my ex-wife. Whilst they had to make good what I was missing, the ex-wife was never made to pay her 'substantial' windfall back. And people wonder why I despise government bodies!

The view out of my window this morning. I hope the picture conveys coldness...

Snow always looks nice when it settles on the bushes and trees. I hope it doesn't last too long,

I've just had to nip out to the post box. It all seems to be melting and going slushy.

I hope the rain will soon. wash all this snow away, now become icy and hazardous. The main roads are ok, but round our cul-de-sac. it doesn't get cleared and I barely could walk on the pavements or road.

It's all gone from around here.

I even managed a walk along the canal yesterday whilst it was still a little icy. - Nice warm pub at the end!

Just started raining again around my area too; hopefully it'll get rid of the last icy remains of the snow.
