Frankly, the money would be better spent replacing the cracked & mismatched slabs and blobs of tarmac that make up the town's pavements: http://stratfordobserver.co.uk/news/...istoric-spine/

You will please forgive me if I don't bend over to read it. - I've been caught like that before.
I think all councils are guilty of those mismatches Lex. - And doesn't it look a mess?
They look a hell of a mess. I'd have thought the District Council would take a bit pride in Stratford and get the streets properly repaved, and, while they're at it, get onto owners of the increasingly tatty looking buildings on Bridge & High Streets to tidy them up (especially in light of the extortionate rents the shops pay!)
The plaques are a nice idea but prettying the place up should come after attending to repairs that have are not only unsightly but have the potential to create tripping haszards and nasty bone breakages.
Cool
Yet more of these bl***y plaques, and Stratford's pavements are still in a right state! Ye Gods!

Sometimes I truly wonder about these town planners and councillors.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.
Fundraising efforts are being made to pay for the rest of the plaques, and Stratford's streets are still in a right state: http://www.stratford-herald.com/1029...g-project.html
I wonder just how many have been injured and at what cost?

It's been a problem for years in Stratford.
Well done Jenny, Kate & Dominic for funding the repairs: https://www.stratford-herald.com/106...pair-work.html
