The numbers don't stack up. We also need to review how our leaving the EU will affect numbers.

The thing is, once we've lost the greenbelt land there is no recovery, we won't get it back.

I've you've said somewhere before, Rebbonk, that houses could be being thrown just for the sake of keeping the building industry busy.

I think it goes a bit deeper than keeping people busy, Lex. Our country's wealth and economy are no longer backed by gold but on various 'financial instruments.' One of those instruments is related to property values and sales. This is why that during the lockdown estate agents haven't been closed.

The more you look into things the murkier it all becomes.

Warwickshire's been chosen for a new housing scheme. I wonder how much money WCC is getting to take part?

I'm afraid that tends to be the bottom line these days.

No doubt most of it'll get flittered away.

I'll hazard a guess that this is a temporary halt to things because the housing market isn't at it's best (or won't be when these houses are ready for sale). My bet is that once all our current problems are behind us, this will rear its head again.

High rise flats have been rejected in Coventry; could've been a different story if they were aimed at students!

204 houses to be built near Bedworth. Building houses above old mine workings has caused a lot of problems in the Black Country: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...-plan-19763241

The area is riddled with old mine workings. There are many unexplained clusters of cancer around the area, it's suspected caused by what went in the old mines before they were sealed. - No records, of course!

I wonder why it ceased functioning as a care home.
It would have made a good retirement or sheltered accommodation for the elderly .

I would guess that the owners thought they could make easier money by developing and selling off.

The number of houses needed in Coventry & Warwickshire has been overestimated. What a surprise.
