HOW LOVELY MARGARET,I ONLY WISH I COULD GET UP.I dream of having winning pictures.Misty mornings by the canal, sunrises, cities in their early quiet moments, you know them all. but as yet nothing has tempted me enough to drag myself out of bed.
Even as a school child my Mum got me up by dragging the bed clothes off and hanging them over the bannisters Not funny in the days of no heating upstairs and iced up windows. Then I had to make the bed.
Don't think I'll change now. I suppose early nights would help.

Thanks Cathi, Force of habit for me being an early riser. I find it is the best time of day for me, I like getting up early while it's nice and quiet and make a cuppa. I usually take pictures of the sky early morning from my back garden, but it would be better if I walked down the back lane and down to the railway bridge where there is an uninterrupted stunning view, but don't always bother to get dressed and footwear on. The sky changes colour so quickly at sunrise. There are always plenty of dog walkers out that early around 07:00.
You mentioned getting up in winter with iced up windows, reminds me of my school days in Scotland, we had no central heating then, mum would get the coal fire going. It was freezing in the mornings getting washed, teeth chattering at the sink, it was a quick splash over when really cold, then quickly dressed again. I kind of think it toughened us up a bit.

Members, if you like I thought it might be an nice idea to post pictures of your local shopping centres now that they are looking very bright and Christmasy with lovely lights and decorations. I took some today but it was a bit busy with too many folks milling around. Will try again later in the week.

    Sometimes.
I like doing pastels best-or charcoal.
At present I'm painting a dragon.
    I'll post it when finished...
