Door knocking is underway in Nuneaton, with the help of Labour's 'patronising pink bus': http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/Campa...ail/story.html

    Hardly out of nappies!

I am really annoyed at the way labour has selected many candidates (only women short-lists springs to mind). It really worries me what they'd do if they got back into power. - More quota's?

What these left-wing muppets need to realise is that we need the best person for the job, not someone who fits a perceived under-represented sexual or ethnic group/profile.

I see that the left is rapidly falling out of favour with the French: unless that imbecile Miliband gets a grip, Labour will be finished in this country pretty soon. The problem is that there are still influential little enclaves of lefties around (Education as an example) and they're still calling many shots; not that they've got any experience of the real world, their ideas are all theoretical.

Unfortunately, I see the rise of the extreme right coming, and I really fear what that may mean for many of the working class, if not the country as a whole.

That's one of the reasons that I've never been able to vote for any party more left wing than the Lib Dems - all these parties (Labour, SNP, Greens etc.) seem to be a bunch of PC fascists with a load of fantasist ideas, who can't seem able to run for a bus, let alone run the country.

Another campaign debate. I wonder when the election candidates for Coventry & Warwickshire constituencies will hold these events at times when the majority of voters will be able to attend - i.e. outside office hours!!

My MP is standing down. - He was not much good anyway, so I won't miss him.

However, I've taken to emailing the prospective candidates for the seat about certain issues. To date, I've had responses from the Labour candidate and a socialist union candidate. (I was also asked if I'd like to join in the socialist union campaign!) Now, it might be that the others think they've got no chance of winning the seat, or (wrongly) that my question indicated that I wouldn't vote for them, but I do think a non reply is rude in the extreme. These were matters that meant something to me and they as prospective candidate ought be aware of how the locals feel.

I'm afraid that I won't vote for anyone I'm not personally comfortable with. I do wish other people would see behind the false veneer of the election posters and smiles.

I take a similar view Rebbonk. If a candidate can't be bothered putting even a leaflet through my letterbox, they probably won't be too bothered making an effort if they become my elected representitive, hence they won't get my vote. I've told this to several local councillors & candidates from several parties over the years, but I still get nothing!

The first of the election shouting matches takes place tonight - probably your only chance to see the PM say his bit: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/c...u-26-march-9pm

A bit of a low profile advertising campaign on C4's behalf - I only heard about the debate when The Simpsons finished 20 minutes ago!

I see Geoffrey Robinson is standing down. Seems to be a bit of a late decision. I'm beginning to wonder if something isn't brewing...

All is not well in the local Labour camp...

The local party ought be able to select its own candidate, even if the 3 named are 24 carat plonkers.

Women of Warwickshire, have you been inspired to vote (especially for Labour)?
