Swan Theatre to be Refurbished

After hacking the main theatre about (including adding the portacabin block seen on the right of the picture in the article), the RSC has decided to ruin the Swan Theatre too.

Why can't they leave things alone? Are they awash with cash or something, or have they obtained unnecessary grants from somewhere?

I'm not clear whether they are going to knock it about, or just do a facelift on the brickwork, etc.
