Default Schoolgirl Misses Out on Attendance Award....

...because she missed a day at school TO GO TO HER MOTHER'S FUNERAL! And teachers wonder why their profession isn't respected any more.

    No leeway for common sense!

    Rules is rules!

I bet the Head now feels a right arse after the firestorm that raged on twitter and facebook.

I understand that the 100% rule has now been dropped?

Apparently it was the fault of a computer; yet again, a teacher refuses to take responsibility: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...shire-28423719

We live in a transfer of blame society - didn't anyone tell you? It's never your fault it is always someone else, a Company, organisation, the weather, the computer / hackers...

If you do your homework well, there might be money to be made too - by suing someone. If you are successful, then you walk away with your dented halo, shiny but in place though your conscience might have a nag.
