Unhappy State Pension Age to Rise

Oh well, we knew it was going to happen eventually:

    I really find this offensive.

Firstly, the government shouldn't go giving handouts to those that haven't contributed. - Perhaps we might have a few bob left!

Secondly, once you have signed up and started paying NI contributions that contract ought stand unless a change is agreed by both parties.

The goalposts are changing again: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-40658774

I'm still not expecting to retire before I'm 70, though.

I've been on to my kids to look at providing for themselves.

I retired very early and was able to draw a pension at 50. I had a few insurance policies mature between 50 and 60, and when I reach 65 I have a substantial policy mature that has been running since I was 17. After that, the generous state pension kicks in at about 66 1/2. - I bet I lose most of it though because I've provided for myself... That said, I have had a nice long retirement... Hopefully, one that will go on a lot longer.

I've been paying into a pension since my early 20's, only a few pounds a month to start with, then built my contributions up over the years; about 15% of my salary goes into my pot now, including tax relief. I also pay a bit into an ISA every month.
I won't be rich when (if!) I retire, but I'll be able to get by.
