I've not known most of the acts for several years!

My daughter (under 30) complains that night clubs are for the 'youngsters!'

Sadly, age catches up with all of us at some point.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

Default Entry Charge for Godiva Festival?

It'll help pay for the event, but I wonder if it'll put people off: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...y-fee-15813860

Another shambles by CCC. Had they kept to budget this wouldn't be necessary. They really aren't fit to run a bath!

Social-media scuttlebutt is that it will kill the festival.

City of culture? The only culture this city has is the type that grows in a Petrie dish.

But they need the money for cultural visits and such jaunts.

I think the word you're seeking is "Jollies" Cathi

Looks like entrance charges are here to stay, although £2 isn't a lot: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...-cost-17072405

It's still heavily subsidised: I wonder how long before the council realise that they can not only remove the subsidy but actually make a profit?

To be fair, I did read more than a few complaints about this year's event. I hope that lessons have been learned for the future.

It's not really something I ever fancied going to, even when it was free. Godiva is still a fraction of the price of most other festivals, though; perhaps Godiva fans have had it too good for too long.

The festival's in financial trouble, and seems to have been for a while: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...ealed-30997585
