Anyone use frozen peas?
Mrs R is complaining bitterly about 'grit' being present in them these days.

Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.
Grit? I haven't experienced any grit. Where do you buy them? are they home grown?
She's complaining about both Bird's Eye and Tesco own brand frozen peas.

Leg of lamb for me at the weekend - Tesco is doing a special offer at the minute, £4.17 a kilo.
Yes, we've got one Lex.
Yesterday we had BBQ chicken wings with fries. Not normally my type of thing, but I quite enjoyed it after a few afternoon pints. - Tesco had the wings on cheap a couple of weeks back and Mrs R took advantage of the offer.

There are often some good deals at Tesco butchers counter (pork leg was £2 a kilo a few weeks ago); I only started looking there because the meat in the isle fridges looked horrible.
Our Tesco has had its butcher's counter cut back in size dramatically. I've not been over impressed when I've looked over their produce recently. If Mrs R decides that Tesco can't service our meat needs she's been looking in M&S. Truth be told, the M&S meat is in a different league and it isn't that much more expensive.
Whilst I haven't tried it because it's not convenient, many of my friends tell me that Lidl are very good for meat.

Just for a change tonight, we had sausage, bacon, eggs and tomatoes. I have to say it was bl**dy lovely!

No beans!
Last night we had faggots and chips which I thoroughly enjoyed, though Mrs R didn't. Tonight, I think, will be fish and chips.
I'll roast the leg of lamb later today and we'll have that for the next few days.

Dinner as usual roast with veg.
Coffee and biscuits.
Breakfast this morning was a near disaster, for the first time in my married life, I actually let the pot boil dry when I was doing boiled eggs, the pot ran dry and one egg exploded or bust open, I heard the pop then rushed into the kitchen, in time to save any further burning. The pot was slightly discoloured but cleaned up ok, but I felt awful doing such a daft thing. The main reason is the egg timer I use is not too reliable , so I decided to just go by the clock and mentally time the eggs, but I got busy talking and looking at the paper and forgot. Of course the eggs were over done like bullets, so had to be discarded.
I'd have made egg sandwiches Margaret.
We had Samosas yesterday. Very tasty, but a little 'dry'. The next ones will be sprayed with oil prior to ovening.
Tonight is a quick burger and fries, whilst tomorrow will be a salad.
I'll also cook a leg of pork tomorrow which will last for a few days. - Couple of roast meals and likely a curry.
