    Unhappy Is it me?

Why is it that whenever Polish men go on a night out they want to finish it off with a fight? I've seen this happen quite a few times now and wonder why they find it necessary. All they cause is an uncomfortable, agressive atmosphere in pubs/clubs and an even bigger distance between them and the local people.
This is getting out of hand and I would like to do something about it fast, but I don't know where to start.

Your views/comments would be very much appreciated.

It would help if you stepped out from behind the name "unregistered" and register like the rest of us. - Please

Whilst I am not saying that you don't have a problem, what I will say to you is take care about making such allegations as you can find yourself landing on the wrong side of things.

We are happy to exchange views on matters and maybe come up with ideas on dealing with things, however, please be mindful that the way you come across on this subject could be taken the wrong way.

The answer is simple stop them coming here. They're taking our jobs, our women and then start fights . If this government did something about the amount of dole dossing scroungers and single parents that can't even be bothered to look for work(yes I know it's very hard to find a part time job AND one that pays enough to make it worth while, but they are out there, we wouldn't need foreigners coming to this country to take our jobs houses, flats and women. They come here during the summer mostly, only stay 6 months and some even have TWO full time jobs. They collect as much cash as they can the go back.
I suspect as they have no intention of settling here they don't care what trouble they cause.

It's not a racist opinion either , it is fact, and as I have no objection to poles coming here to settle and integrate, learn the language so that my tax isn't spent on having everything printed in 20 different languages, it can't be racist. I have no objection but just coming here to get what they can then go back takes the

dippydave, no threats intended at all - even in the request to step out from behind the "Unregistered" tag. It is nice to have a name we can identify with someone, and by the way.

    A very warm....... to WarwickshireOnline.

So many things do not seem just. I tried to get the water supplier to install a meter, after all, there is only me, I have a shower only and do my washing at a laundrette. Now, that means I don't use a lot of water. I objected to, once again, subsidising those that use mega mounts so asked for a meter installation. In a nutshell, "No can do". It seems I have a property where they can't install a meter, so I continue to pay for far more than what I use.

I also share my wheely bin - not willingly - with those that produce more rubbish than their bins can cope with. Recently, I was away for a week, came back and there was no room for my rubbish. Yes, I could go outside, take a registration number etc but to do so would make me visible and potentially vulnerable. When individuals flytip even bigger items, once they have done so the victim has to sort it out and pay.

On a plus side, the Council give me a discount on the Council Tax for living alone, but the TV Licencing Authority don't.

I agree with Lex in that many would be financially better off not working and letting the taxpayer support them generously ad infinitum, but, personally, I prefer to know that what I have I have worked for, no matter how little it is. It would be so much better to see those making the effort to provide for themselves being assisted not penalised.

Working keeps the mind healthy shiz, people who don't work often suffer from depression because they don't work, if they forced themselves to get a job, get out, have conversation with adults, make friends, that depression would probably not be there. Sometimes these people need a push even if it's not what they want at the time.
When i have a week off because there's no work , i quickly get depressed, fall into a routine of late nights late mornings, constantly on the pc, feel lethargic and all those jobs I intended to do get put off till tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow until I'm back at work. THEN they eventually get done between work, either after or on the odd day off. These people will do anything to avoid work because they feel like I do, they don't want to work, they're in a rut. It's so easy to pretend you're looking for work when you aren't, so easy to pretend to be depressed when you aren't, but then they actually do become depressed through doing nothing all day.
AND they've bought in stupid laws to stop people working. The electrical laws, building regulation part P, suddenly after being an electrican 18 yrs, I'm no longer capable of doing a job safely unless I go on the latest course, oh no I can't just keep up with new regs by reading them I have to prove it in a class room, and I have to pay 365 quid. I was only doing cookers for pensioners at the weekend for 20 to 30 quid, they can't afford a 60 quid call out.I never got 365 quid worth of jobs in total a year, now I can't. There's lots of old boys that used to do this sort of work but it's not worth the hassle now so they sit at home all day every day. Poles come over here now doing building work and wiring because we no longer have enough qualified and paid up people.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR this government are so stupid. 5 people die a year through dangerous wiring, well I demand to know if that figure has gone down, cos I bet it hasn't, the cowboys get registered pay the 365 quid and carry on. The prices they charge they can afford to. I don't want to doit full time and have a conscience.

I have actually been told by one of my colleagues, who is Polish himself, that it is quite normal in Poland for guys to get into a fight at then end of the night. It is a sort of "proving you are a man" thing (his words not mine!).
So I can see why it might be a bit extreme for C. to claim this is just done by Polish men, but just thought I'd share this story with you
Personally I don't really see a lot of trouble when I'm out in Stratford, I just get annoyed how bad the places to go in town are!

Right. I am nobody's 'woman to take', and resent such a sexist comment. If someone wants to work hard in 2 full time jobs, good for them if they're paying into our NI and tax system! If it's cash in hand - it's the employer that needs prosecuting, not them. Your comments ARE racist, making generalisations like that.

Eastern Europeans and other Europeans come here to earn an honest living, just as the Irish did before them. My feeling is that Britain has become a lounging society with many, many people claiming the dole without truly seeking work. It is the British people that have become idle leaving Eastern Europeans etc to fill the gap.

Most of the people I meet from'abroad' have come here to earn an honest living-perhaps to send money home to their country and someday hope to go home again. Ido not see any wrong in that. They work hard -a lot harder than some of us.They really earn their money be it a pittance compared with what we would expect.
The jobs they do would not be taken up by 'our' people for that money.
The majority of complaints about these incomers are from people on the dole who are saying 'these foreigners have taken our jobs.'.
If they wanted the jobs -they are there for them, at low wages of course but it is usually made up by government payments to a better level. But ,so many people have been out of work and on social security or dole money for so long it is easier not to bother. I know quite a few who, as teenagers never had jobs, and are now grown up and still haven't worked , I dont think they could cope with a job.
It should be compulsory to either go on to either secondary/further education
or have a job or apprenticeship lined up.
Otherwise they should get no money--or maybe no choice.

Firstly ..I have absolutely no problem with the Eastern Europeans who have come here to work..I'd do the same if I was them..A bit like the brits who went to Saudi in the 70's..Earn a shed load of money under pretty grim conditions but then go home with enough dosh to buy a house outright.

What I do have a problem is the system which we as a society seem to have accepted in the UK..namely that a large proportion of the work force go to work pay taxes etc (this includes the migrant work force)..A proportion of this money goes to enable another section of society to sit at home and not work because "they won't do the jobs". I don't think this system where whole "shameless" style of living is condusive to a good society.

I do not disagree that they work hard, but I also think it is having a negative effect on our economy if migrant workers send part of their wages home instead of putting it back into our economy.

I do agree with some of you saying they are causing "tension". I am more concerned about some of their mentalities and their reluctance to integrate into the English culture. Quite a few (not all of them, don't get me wrong) cannot be bothered to learn the English language, only socialise with people from their home country and create a rather uncomfortable atmosphere between the local community and themselves.

It's probably that we English have a notorious reputation for exactly the same behaviour so foreigners think it's normal to fight in England.
