Budget has caused economy to stagnate, Bank of England says

    * The Bank of England has warned that the economy is stagnating after Rachel Reeves’s budget, as businesses have responded by raising prices and cutting jobs.
    * The Bank downgraded its forecasts and now expects 'zero growth' in the final three months of 2024.
    * A survey by the Bank indicated that companies were responding to the £25 billion National Insurance tax raid by increasing prices and cutting jobs.
    * The Bank emphasized that growing 'geopolitical tensions and trade policy uncertainty' were putting the global economy under strain.

The economy's going to be screwed for a long time to come.

I don't think these people are delusional; they seem to be going for the 'keep repeating the message until people believe it' approach: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...fuel-cash.html

I believe they have an agenda that isn't in the interests of the indigenous population. What they've done thus far amounts to treason and I'd love to see that smarmy ******* Starmer in the dock for it.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.” - Wrongly attributed to Joseph Goebbels, but the sentiment is there. Unfortunately, for the shower of excrement in power, it isn't going to wash and it's beginning to wear a bit thin with most of the electorate. The Labour party is finished after this term of office, and in their hearts, they know it. No matter what happens between now and the GE, nobody will ever trust them again.

However, I honestly do think they believe their own lies. There's not one amongst the front bench trustworthy or has valid experience for the job they're doing. Frankly, I hope every last one of them succumbs to something very unpleasant.

Labour is definitely without a paddle. Sadly, there's a good chance Gob***** Farage will be involved in the next government; at least Musk seems to have called the bromance off.

The splits are beginning to show within Labour. The recent focus on these rape gangs is causing rather a rumpus. Starmer (as head of the CPS - He keeps reminding us) is about to find that you can delegate authority, but not responsibility. He was head man when it all happened, he owns the outcome.

Apparently, it isn't the government's fault and we're going to have to pay even more tax: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...o11-years.html

They can tart it up all they like, they are at fault. They lied, they have no experience, they refused to listen to those that knew better. Without a doubt, this is the worst government in living memory - and that's saying something!

The pressure on Reeves to go is rising. I wonder how long before Starmer throws her under the bus?

Won't be long - Starmer has every confidence in Reeves.
