The Labour campaign bus has visited Nuneaton: https://coventryobserver.co.uk/news/...ited-nuneaton/

The party hasn't really bothered campaigning in Stratford, even the candidate seems to think he's on a loser.

Strange isn't it, Lex. It's almost as if certain seats are already spoken for in some unwritten (and unpublished) agreement.

I see Farage is stirring things up a little - I think he's got the 2 party establishment rather worried.

God help us if Reform starts getting seats in Parliament.

Lex, you have to do what you think is right.

My thinking is that the two-party state have royally f*cked us over and that things need shaking up.

My bet is that Farage will end up leading a mix of the Tories (after they get slaughtered) with Penny Mourdant as his N0.2. I expect Farage to be the PM within the next few years, and I predict that Kemi Badenoch will be the first coloured female PM that we see.

Of course, many things could upset the applecart...

Yeah, that's the way things seem to be going at the minute - in Europe, the Americas, and parts of Asia - everything's going to extremes.

Idiots breed idiots. Tools breed tools. So the country wants a tool makers son to lead them. This is what happens when the education system has gone down the plug.
In the words of Rebbonk, we are right royally stuffed , and sunk to the nuts! And to rub salt wound , the treasonous old boot, Teresa May and her other half get a peerage. It's a right royal p*ss take that is!

Looking at the voting %ages, I suspect Labour are not on as firm a footing as they are currently claiming to be.

People are going to be expecting to see quick changes that make them feel better. As there's no money, that simply isn't going to happen. Any changes that are going to be made will need to be paid for and those costs will come out of our collective pockets, thus making many feel worse off than ever.

Somehow, I don't see Starmer having an easy ride. I can't help wondering how long before he's ousted by the real left?

i agree. this so called labour landslide is more apparent than real.
Essentially they only really won on this scale because the Tory Party has more or less ceased to exist.
Yes, I could see no other way than taxes going up, so how can there be a feel good factor. The levels of debt in the country is so astronomical that its going to constrain everything they do.
Again I agree his position is actually precarious. It perhaps doesn't help also that he is extremely thick, almost remedial. Has no inherent qualities whatsoever as anyone can see, and does whatever the deep state or his handlers tell him to do.

As the saying goes, 'The opposition doesn't win elections, the government loses them'. The next 5 years isn't going to be much different from the last 14.

I remember chatting with an old feller years ago, who said that if the Conservatives ever lost Stratford, they'd be in real trouble. He never lived to see the day: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cv2g9276x3ko

The Conservative leadership contest is getting underway. I recognise only a couple of names: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...Tugendhat.html

Maybe an interesting couple of weeks after such a lacklustre election campaign by the main parties.
