However, plans have been released for a new entertainment venue: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...oftop-25163401
Not good enough.
Far too many of these venues are used as little clique groups for the few, rather than for the many that pay for them. I'll guess that 'someone', stands to make a lot of money from this!
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.
It's strange that the council can't get funding for the old venue, but reckon they're in with a chance of paying for the new one.

THe decision's not a popular one: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...paign-25190651
A few that I drink with are not happy and are writing letters of complaint. These are people that normally wouldn't bother but are incensed over recent developments.

Some halfwit's started threatening the council leader. At the end of the day, it's a building, and not worth shedding blood over: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...reats-25252050
A meeting's been held over the venue's future; not that it'll change anything: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...ision-25308071
Locally, anger is rising. And a few awkward questions and being bandied about.
I doubt things will change, but hats off to those having a go.

The centre has been put in the campaigners' court - if they can find someone to run it, it can stay: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...pared-25405962
The ruling Conservative group are putting the opposition on the spot over a campaign to reopen the venue: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/ne...er-re-25902426
That next meeting might be a little 'interesting'. I wonder if any of my mates are going? I'll have to ask around.

A local CIC won't be getting a look in: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/in...orths-26694197
From nobody wanting it to two groups wanting it... I guess that has screwed a few councillors' holiday plans!
