Default Grosvenor Hotel to Accommodate Asylum Seekers

Apparently, 150 asylum seekers will be put up in the hotel. I wonder if they agreed to this due to a poor tourist season: https://stratfordobserver.co.uk/news...sylum-seekers/

Whatever the reason, it will blight the area. Novotel by me took in these people, and locally it was very unpopular. Novotel stopped tending its' gardens and the place started to look very rundown. It was only when (allegedly) Novotel struggled to get insurance that the immigrants were moved on and the place was tidied up.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

This is all wrong, there is no reason to put them up in such high-quality and/or expensive hotels. Why not use the budget ones if it has to be done?

Better still, make every last person who has ever attended an 'Immigrants welcome' event, or posted their support for them online, take one in at their own personal expense?

According to a WCC/WDC statement, the Home Office is using the hotel on a temporary basis: https://www.warwickshireworld.com/ne...fugees-4878142

'Temporary' often lasts a long time.

Because some lefty lawyer will sue the government if they aren't put in 'decent' accommodation!

Coventry Novotel (just around the corner from me) is set to take about 150 (again!). The locals aren't happy.

Just like our current excremental PM did at one stage.

There are far more deserving cases.

Interestingly, I was chatting to a couple of Indian chaps last night. They really fear for the future of the country. Both seemed far more aware of what was likely to happen than the average Brit is.

    Novotel have denied the rumours.

It took them long enough, being a cynic I might suggest a rapid re-think has been employed.
