I am really p*ssed off about these elections.

I have had a personally addressed, yet unstamped, letter from some local politician, before the candidates' names have been released. Who the f*ck votes blindly like this? - Frankly, if you do, you deserve all you get, and then some!

I have just watched that idiot Stammer [sic] on an election broadcast. These elections are not about national issues but local ones. Anyone thinking that the result of local elections will stop Bozo's ego and oppressive policies is a fool.

Rant over, I'll take my blood pressure pills now.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

Elections are definitely approaching - the Lib Dems have magically reappeared from oblivion: https://solihullobserver.co.uk/news/...ection-troops/

Rugby's Labour Party have reheated the same old drivel: https://rugbyobserver.co.uk/news/rug...cal-elections/

Coventry might be interesting. Unite (the union) has withdrawn support from several of the councillors and seems to be offering up their own candidates.

Yes, it might be interesting to what happens - the political parties seem to be inspiring less confidence than usual, but 2 lefty groups standing might work for the Tories.

Nuneaton & Bedworth's candidates; no Lib Dems are standing: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/in...idate-23612012

A discussion with my daughter earlier...

She believes that you should only have the choice of voting Labour or Conservative, as voting anything else is a waste of time! - I really need to get a DNA test done!

An interesting situation situation in Coventry; the Lib Dems - the UK's '3rd party' - is fielding fewer candidates than some of the fringe parties: https://coventryobserver.co.uk/news/...cil-elections/

The Lib Dems seem to be a bit short of candidates in Solihull too: https://solihullobserver.co.uk/news/...ions-on-may-5/

They didn't do themselves any favours during the last General Election campaign - maybe that could be a factor?

I've already voted. Sorry to say that I thought the list of candidates was rubbish and I used my voting slip to tell them as much. - I was polite(ish) but I really wouldn't be happy that any of the candidates had secured my vote.

The Conservatives didn't quite get the hammering everyone was expecting, and they held on to Rugby too:

The Lib Dems & Greens seem to be the main beneficiaries of the losses Tories make.

The Conservatives managed to keep hold of Solihull as well: https://solihullobserver.co.uk/news/...-solihull-mbc/

All a bit of a letdown, wasn't it?
