    Default Council Tax 2022

It's that time of year, and the councils are going to wring as much cash as they can out of us. Again.

It's time that the act (Local Government Finance Act 1992 ) was scrapped. Councils need to be fully accountable for what they do, under this act they can simply demand (and take) money without delivering anything.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

On top of that, you'll have various precepts (extras to you and I) for things like the police.

As I said before, it is time the local government finance was scrapped and time that we could hold our council responsible for what they deliver whilst having the option to 'shop' around. If the b*ggers had to live in the real world, you can bet that both value for money, and the service we get, would improve.

Predictable, isn't it? They're going to kill the golden goose the way they're going.

Do I get the feeling that they're beginning to 'run scared'?

Maybe they're expecting all these 'efficiencies' from the merger with Stratford to actually happen?

Very early, my water bill has just landed. It seems to have risen substantially.

Mine went down a bit this year - I managed to build up a bit of credit on my account.

They can supply a whole village in Africa for less than 5/month, time I changed supplier!

I think that was always on the cards. I expect more councils to go down that route.
