Default Bin Workers to go on Strike

The overtime they'll earn in the New Year will pay a few Christmas bills: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-59564994

    It rather stinks, doesn't it?
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

Just a bit. Teachers did a similar thing by kicking a fuss up about opening schools up during the spring, but didn't protest much come September.....

Rubbish collection points have been set up around the city: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...shire-59816707

I wonder how many people will use them?

My next collection is likely to be about 5 weeks from the previous one. It's not going to cause me problems, but I can't say the same for the families around me.

No hope of the dispute being solved in the near future: https://coventryobserver.co.uk/news/...strial-action/

Bear in mind that I spent a large portion of my life in the motor industry...

The money lost will never be recovered. The public will never forget the inconvenience they have been put to.

Strikes are a mug's game, both sides lose. There are always better ways of sorting out disagreements.

CCC is employing Tom White Waste. Who owns Tom White waste? CCC! - Make of that what you will!

Both sides have now 'dug in' and we are simply seeing a battle of egos from those at the top. Very sadly, those further down the ladder will pay the price; in this case the council taxpayers and those actually out on strike.

Unfortunately, this is an issue of CCCs own making. As usual, the incompetence and shortsighted view of those that we elect is coming back to haunt us.

Unlike many, I always interrogate those soliciting my vote. Most are incapable of posting their own letters!
