We used to go to Gloucestershire a lot when I was a stripling, and I always found the industrial heritage of the Gloucester-Sharpness canal fascinating, especially the Purton Hulks: https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/news-...harpness-canal

I've got a mate who was responsible for sinking dozens of old canal craft in the 60s. They were towed out to a deep ex-quarry and holed. I believe that since then the link to the quarry has been filled in and built on. You just don't know what's under your house.
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.
