Thread: Warwick & Stratford Merger

I agree about the ego's and the savings or non savings.
There is a little bit of a wider theme here. Stratford Council is now reaping the whirlwind it sowed in ignoring local people, particularly over the RSC development saga. There have been a number of independent councillors at Stratford SBC. in years gone by who have tried to voice local opinion, and in the context of a very unhealthy relationship that has developed between the council and the RSC. What I find really quite sad is that even only 20 years ago, Stratford had a first class council. It has literally collapsed in terms of representing local people.
SBC now has, in my opinion, a toxic image and culture. I can quite understand why WDC does not want to be contaminated. This is what happens when you allow special interests and even as influential as the RSC (with its connections to the high and mighty) to really start directing local affairs. The Council are there as a form of representative democracy. It is quite obvious SBC does not represent the community. And Warwick are quite a shrewd bunch.

That's summed it up nicely - it's been all about Bard worship for years now.

The 2 councils are working on a joint local plan. That'll be the south of the county concreted over, then: https://leamingtonobserver.co.uk/new...horizon-42333/

I wonder how much that cost them?
Of course it'll fit, you just need a bigger hammer.

Yet more waste. These muppets simply don't get how the public is thoroughly p*ssed off with them and their profligate ways.

The average schoolkids could have given them those results!
