Anyone notice Hunt's slight of hand with EVs this week? They are going to lose their road tax free status, and will attract higher levels of road tax for the first 5 years if they cost over £40,000. - That's going to hurt a lot of people!

Yes, I've heard something about that.

A battery factory will be a disaster.

I'll believe this when it happens.

Warwick District Council's getting involved now. Personally, I'd take a couple of zeros off the jobs numbers: https://leamingtonobserver.co.uk/new...nancial-boost/

Without massive incentives (read bribes) this isn't going to happen. Wised-up car makers are already dropping EV production.

It's starting to look like the whole EV car industry is in danger of literally crashing: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...Ford-boss.html

It was always the case. Government interference was never the way to go. The imbeciles in Westminster never learn the lessons of past mistakes!

    I can't see it happening.

I am still completely puzzled as to the continued push for battery making facilities on our doorstep. Batteries are messy and fraught with danger. Those living near the factory will be living on a knife edge worrying about accidents.
