They've come south and seem to have moved into my kitchen wall as they did last year.
I'll happily take a few off your hands - tell them my lupins are starting to flower!
It must be them because I haven't seen nor heard them for a few days- Its a long flight up there.
This goes a long way to explaining things!

So what can we all do to help? I suppose plant plenty of flowering shrubs etc?
I've got loads of plants bees like - lavender, lupins, honeysuckle etc.
I'm trying - flowering hanging baskets, more in tubs, oriental lilies to come in July/August by the pond, Honeysuckle but it hasn't flowered yet. The pond attracts flying things too.
Our buzzy friends would love you all, helping to take care of their needs. I need to pay some attention to the lavender I have in pots as they are looking a tad water deprived.
I tend to refer back to the BCT website for helpful advice:

Cool
Just got back to the office from my lunchtime stroll, where I saw my first 2 bumblebees of the year!
Oh Dear- I do hope they don't get hit with a freeze in the next few weeks. They are a little early waking from their winter slumber. Mind you, everything seems confused. My Koi and the other goldfish haven't stopped eating all winter and have remained active. Normally, they'd been deep, not feeding and slow from end November/early December to around about end February to early March.
I've increased my bee tally to 4 so far, and have spotted 3 butterflies!
Yes, I've seen a few bees and butterflies. It seems spring is springing.
I'm still seeing a few bees about, but the butterflies seem to have disappeared.
I had a couple of bees in the kitchen yesterday. I shooed them out as Doggies actively go for them. Another thing is a beautiful pale blue butterfly. I've not seen one like it in years and not in our garden ever. I wonder if it was the Holly Blue species? It certainly looked like it http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/speci...s#.U3JDTnbTDFw
