There are things to do in Rugby

Hi,

I respectfully disagree with those who say there is nothing to do in Rugby. There's actually quite a thriving cultural scene here. Not least out theatre. Caldicott Park has been given a make-over and is resplendent. There's a cafe and fantastic facilities for children. There will be an festival in the park soon. We also have a superb gallery and museum and a host of specialist shops and lovely cafes and bars.

There is also a fantastic live music scene, with regular gigs in the town, including the monthly Stereotype night on the last Friday each month at Style Bar. Several nationally famous bands have played recently and local talent is blooming.

And for all those who enjoy rock music, Rugby Music Festival is happening this Sunday (28th June) at Rugby Lions Club on Webb Ellis Road - MySpace.com - Rugby Music Festival - 27 - Male - UK - www.myspace.com/rugbymusicfestival. Over 10 local bands are playing, including many tipped for national success.

I totally agree there's really great stuff to do in Rugby. I personally put on events and the response has been amazing! Our next on is a burlesque night at Verve (used to be Style) on 22nd May 2010. www.lekeuxevents.co.uk/Events.html. Totally different and I promise and awesome night out.

We've got live acts from Buddy Holly and Black Elvis, plus rockabilly and rock n roll music all night. There's also a dance class before hand to learn how to swing and jive '50s style, plus a vintage hair tutorial too!
