Lex, the writing has been on the wall for a long time. Business problems don't appear overnight, it's just that people choose not to look for them, or worse, choose to obscure them! - Spoken as someone who has seen more than his fair share of failed businesses! Believe me, there are plenty of UK companies not too far from the buffers!

I was really surprised when I read the article. Closed collieries and their communities are usually left to rot for decades before someone decides to do something with them.

Strikes me as a little bit of nimbyism. The area desperately needs jobs, if the old Daw Mill site can provide them then it ought be used for the greater good.
