Wow. Nuneaton looks a really nice town (don't have sound on my PC!).

The only experience I have of the place is the roads around the Hospital, Justice Centre, Railway Station & College; which always gives a slightly rundown feel to the town.

I'll have to pay a proper visit one day.

If you have time to meander market day is fun. However, if you are in a hurry to get somewhere it is like trying to negotiate around Brown's Cows who are being moved down the road to a fresh field.

There is a mix of the old world and the new. As you can imagine there was a lot of destruction during the war and the construction of the ring road has likely changed the town considerably along with the work done to prevent the town from being flooded. The Anker still runs through the town but it is, in the most part, under the town with a small section visible by Debenham's near the bottom of the town centre. It then reappears behind the area of the bus station.

If you walk into the Ropewalk from Queen's Road and follow it through to exit at the other end you are rather surprised at what you encounter. The Jailhouse which is either a pub or a night club - not sure which - and it has another world type feel to it.

Much work has been done in the town centre and it looks good.
