Didn't manage to get to the Rememberance Day service at my local church today, but watched the service in London on TV. It always brings a tear to my eye hearing the personal accounts of what the troops went through during the wars of the last 100 years.

I didn't either as I was at work. The best I could manage was the 2 minutes of silence observed at Birmingham New Street Station whilst on the platform.
I seem to remember seeing a memorial plaque that my grandmother had. On it, along with the name and the date was ... "He died for freedom and honour." This was in 1914. Along with that plaque she had a message that comes with it: A message from the King, "I join with my grateful people in sending you this memorial of a brave life given for others in the Great War" The one thing I didn't see was the accompanying scroll. So many lives have been lost that the world may indeed have freedom and honour. Lives will continue to be lost for the same cause. May we not ever forget.
