Optrex, am trying out the weather plugin for FireFox. Tonight, for Nuneaton, apart from Dense Fog it has also said Blowing Dust and Frz Rain. How can dust be blowing when the air appears still and foggy and what is Frz Rain??

As for Weather Watcher... it predicts Rain / Snow Showers tomorrow... Ah well, covers most of the likely options ;-)

Shiz,

I think both of those posts give you an indication as to how poor weather watcher is. Its interpretation of UK weather data is based on what would be produced under those conditions in the US. As you can see there is a major difference.

Much of the same for the next few days I'm afraid. No sign or rain or snow or wind - lol

Frz rain refers to freezing rain, which is when rain freezes when it makes contact with the ground. A common and very dangerous occurance in winter.

If you are after weather information, you have 2 options. The first would be "live data" for current information, the second would be forecast data for future information.

Code:
<a href="http://www.tamworthweather.org.uk"><img src="http://www.tamworthweather.org.uk/images/advert.jpg"</a>
will give live weather data, sufficient for a 15 mile radius from Tamworth.

Alternatively, the MWF homepage has a plugin for you to input your location. This then gives weather data for your local area, as well as access to a live flood and national traffic data (direct from the agencies concerned).

Ahh... thank you! I wondered about the blowing dust thinking... where on earth does this data come from? The moon? The Sahara?

As for the pea soup of the last few days, well, mother nature must be boiling up a fresh brew as the sky is currently blue, but I daresay it won't be for long.

It sure is dense. I made the mistake of going to Sainsbury's in Nuneaton. It was dark and the fog very thick when I came out. There was going to be a 20 minute wait for a taxi so thought oOo..I'll walk but best take a loo visit first...oOo ... Couldn't find a loo in Sainsbury's, looked out again and decided... I will wait for a taxi.
