Who, me, pop in often? Sorry but I find the computer can take me over for the whole day if I don't limit my time online and I never manage to do everything online. As for my involvement, I left Coventry almost 20 years ago, and I feel that the beautiful Welsh Marches, where I now live, are my true home where I propose to spend the rest of my life. Hence I think about Coventry occasionally.I started this thread because I used to work on the City Farm, so was concerned. I've just had my annual pilgrimage to Warwickshire, because I never miss the Royal Show! No, not even when it is as wet and muddy as the Glastonbury Festival! ![]() |

They still cancelled the last day due to the mud though! Apparently they didn't want to get sued

The border between Wales and England (actually Montgomeryshire and Shropshire). I've known the Marches by that name for years, ever since I used to travel from Coventry to walk Offa's Dyke, and fell in love with the area.
Now I live just a couple of miles from Offa's Dyke. I never knew I'd be that lucky!!! ![]() |

Iwent to the first Royal Show-still have the programme-
Then, the only real hard road was up to the Royal Pavilion. It rained! and rained! I was trying to push a baby in a pushchair--we carried it. The other 2 children thought it great fun ,especially as they were covered in mud up to their knees(and weren't being told off.) I cant remember much about it ,but I know we enjoyed the day even though the weather was bad. It had something very special about it, very Royal, an atmosphere which it seemed to lose as it got more sophisticated in the later years. |

I saw something on the news about the showground being for sale, but didn't see the outcome. Anyone know, please? |
