I'm a semi-regular drinker at Stratford Ale House - it's as good as the hype makes out:

Good to see Stratford-upon-Avon Brewery doing well too.

I'm a big fan of these small breweries.

My local has only recently re-opened and it's already going down the pan (again!). - Big brewery chains!

I have a friend who wants to open a micropub like Hail to the ale. He has the idea of brewing his own beer and selling via a shopfront. Unfortunately, he's finding that unless he owns the premises it's likely to be a non-starter.

There's one in Warwick too - The Old Post House (I think), on West Street; it looks like another one might be opening in Smith Street as well.

I really see a big future in these micropubs. No music; good beer; a few newspapers and a cosy club like atmosphere. :)

Far too many pubs were ruined in the 60s and 70s when all of their rooms were 'knocked into one'. These days the pubs are usually far too big for the clientele, so the micropub could readdress things.
