It might be interesting, although I can't say I'm a particular fan of her works. Always good to see genuine historic premises saved though.
I generally don't do literary attractions (an aversion caused by growing up in Stratford), but I did go to the Bronte Parsonage a few years ago and found it quite interesting, I even ended up reading a couple of their books.

I'm glad this is happening , but it makes me wryly smile.I have seen this building deteriorate over the past 30 years, in spite of appeals. Now it is going to cost a mint to restore. Typical!!
Fundraising's already going well: http://www.nuneaton-news.co.uk/George-Eliot-global-attraction-Griff/story-27724771-detail/story.html
A big blow, but I'm sure they'll fins the money from somewhere: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/funding-bid-blow-george-eliot-15280764

I no longer play the lottery. I stopped when they refused funding to the RNLI but funded criminals fighting expulsion from this country.
This, as far as I'm concerned, is another nail in their coffin. Stop playing, hit them where it hurts.
I buy Premium Bonds instead; the jackpot is only £1 million, but at least I can get my money back if I don't win.

I've done very well on Premium Bonds over the years Lex. I regularly get small wins, but over time they add up.
Mrs R bought £250 worth of bonds and within 12 months they had multiplied to £350. You don't get that via the banks.
A guy who worked for me told me about his cousin hitting the jackpot and setting himself up in business, so it does happen!
I really don't see a downside to Premium Bonds, unless inflation starts to rise.

And today I've had notification of another small (50) win. What's not to like?

Another £25 today - Steady, but regular ;)
Planning permission has had to be re-applied for; All that's needed now is some cash: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/george-eliot-world-visitor-centre-21265381
A bit of a rethink on the visitor centre. If the building's on the same scale as the picnic benches, it'll be a bit cosy: https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/new-plans-george-eliot-visitor-28755063
