You know it never surprises me how many think the war ended on VE day.

I suspect that one of my mates will be attending carrying the flag for the Paras at this ceremony. I've been to several services like this in the past and they are usually quite moving.

As you say Lex, one to support if you can.

Saturday 15 August, the Cenotaph in the War Memorial Park at 10.15. - And the weather looks to be overcast, but dry.

The conflict in the Far East is often called The Forgotten War. Civilians and troops suffered every bit as badly in Asia as they did in Europe, but this gets forgotten as these events didn't happen 'next door'

Ran into my friend tonight, he won't be holding the flag. He's going away for the weekend and will pay his respects up North.
