To be honest, I'd never heard of Rupert Brooke: http://www.rugbyadvertiser.co.uk/news/local-news/rugby-missed-its-chance-to-boost-tourism-with-100th-anniversary-of-rupert-brooke-s-death-1-6716234

I can't believe that lex or rebbonk have not heard of Rupert Brooke-you are both so knowledgeable.
Unfortunately he died early in 1915 from an infected mosquito bite, on his way to Gallipoli.. his war poems are quite a romantic idea of war.I often wonder what he would have written if he had lived to see the real horrors of the war.
I didn't know he was born in Rugby.

Poetry's not really something I've ever got into

I have recently read HENRY REED'S war poem 'The naming of parts'.
I decided to have a go using his 'rhythm' or 'pattern'
Also my first attempt at a sonnet.
i FOUND THE SONNET DIFFICULT , BUT MANAGED IT
.I sHALL IMPROVE.!!!
Good for the thinking matter.. so 'THEY' say. whoever 'THEY' are.
