I wish them well, but £1,000,000 won't go far. That said, any money being spent to improve areas has to be a good thing.

A cheap 'tarting up' effort!
It basically amounts to a beer tent (with a TV), and a few banners. Great.

An estimated £3 extra was spent in the local economy for every £1 invested.
If that is verifiable it's a great result, though doubt is cast upon it further down the page.
