Since we've had the new dog, we've not been going out much. - He's a little insecure and we feel that he needs settling properly.
Last Tuesday I arranged to meet my kids at the local. Mrs Rebbonk stayed with the dog. The pub was closed. but I happened on the landlord as he was coming out. He explained that the company that had been looking after the place had gone bust and the he had taken it over and would be open once he'd sorted out the licence transfer.
The place re-opened Friday.
So tonight, Mrs Rebbonk and myself decided we'd grace the place with our custom and duly wandered down there at about 7.00PM. The place was locked up!
Now, pubs (especially this one) aren't known for making pots of money these days, so I wonder how this new landlord thinks he's going to take money over a closed bar?
I'll give him 6 months before he follows the previous owners.
