Police are continuing to search for a man who fell in to the River Leam in Leamington on Saturday evening.

Pawel Przydalski, 26, was with friends by the bandstand in the town at about 9.25pm and then fell in to the water by the York Road footbridge and was seen struggling in the current.

A search operation began immediately involving police, the fire service, ambulance crews and specialist search teams.

The search has continued today and although police say they cannot rule out the possibility that Mr Przydalski managed to escape from the river, the investigation is now concentrating on the section of river from the York Road bridge downstream to the Prince’s Drive bridge.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Warwickshire Police on 101, quoting incident 368 of November 15, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111

I've been reading so many conflicting stories of how the poor guy ended up in the river, no doubt there will be an Inquest. His family will be devasted. Sometimes the river can be deceptive, it is shallow in some places and quite deep in other areas. The river has been high as it has had a lot of rain.

RIP
