Someone's having a laugh aren't they? They've already tried a 'food quarter' further down in Priory Place, not to mention the unfinished Belgrade square. It all fell flat, as will this one overlooking Mutton's patio.

And having looked at the type of eatery they're trying to encourage I'm not very impressed.

But the biggest question is, "Since there are no jobs in Coventry (The real wealth generating industry was all killed off) where is the money going to come from for people to pay the inflated prices that will be necessary due to the rents and business rates? All going to be students and (laugh) visitors is it?

Coventry planners haven't got a bl**dy clue.

Have dodgy dealings been going on?

Probably.

I would suspect so Lex.

As I have said before, councils the country over are all the same. However, it won't be easy to prove and wrongdoing...

No doubt, any local concillor out for their own gain can wave a bit of paper in our faces to prove that the whole process was completely legit. & in their voters' interests.

Well, without naming anyone, I did a director search of a few of the key players in this particular case.

Whilst there is no direct link to companies or persons, there are some very interesting previous directorships where no doubt friendships were made...

I guess you know the sort of thing I'm getting at.

How many times has this place had a kick start?
And how many 'new brooms' have come and gone and left the hotch potch it is now?.
Can't think why they got rid of the Godiva island. What a lot of money they could have saved over the years.

You don't like Mutton's patio Cathidaw?

IMHO, when you look at pictures of Broadgate from the 50s and 60s and look at it now, it's hard to say that the changes have been made for the better.
