View Full Version : FIFA World Cup
This is about the only part of the whole thing thing I've found interesting so far: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-27885740
Although, it's good to see some local support for the competition: http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-fans-brazil-believe-england-7281971

Apparently they are to have a new captain after Thursday. His name is Bill Smith and he flies Jumbo jets back to the UK.
Thank god it's over as far as England is concerned:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27935803
(Although the England team still did better than Scotland & Wales ;-P )

I'd like to think that they won't be paid for the pathetic effort they put in, and that they'll now spend the rest of the world cup duration learning to work as a team... But I won't hold my breath!
Probably best not too; on the few occasions I have watched international matches, each of the players on the England team seemed oblivious to the existence of their team-mates.

A bunch of prima donnas does not make a team! Now, who's going to tell Hodgson?
Less than 24 hours, and it will all be over! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28181689

Yes, and Mrs Rebbonk will be happy. - Well, as happy as she ever is!
BBC 1 was tuned into at 7:55, and my nose was thrust into a book in protest!

I was in our local, there were fewer than 10 in there to watch the match!
