I wish there were more pictures of the Soldiers Trooping The colour. One question I have is what exactly was the uniform Prince Edward was wearing? From memory he left The Marines having not passed out very soon after starting his training.

For me, spectacular displays of controlled precision in an army marching and the history behind it all is what makes Britain ' Great '. The horses are just fantastic especially the Drum Horses. Winston is the name of the grey horse carrying the Troop Commanding Officer today and it was his 8th such parade and his last day in the army. He was so visibly happy with his ears pricked forward listening and watching everything. I hope he has a long and happy retirement in a sanctuary.
