Redrow says it must now decide whether to appeal the decision, sell the site, or do nothing and wait until market conditions improve sufficiently in the remote hope that the previously approved scheme will become viable. This could take several years, the company says.

That's the bit that I find worrying. Redrow might well be disappointed, but they still hold the strongest hand.

'THE PUBLIC ARE DISAPPOINTED' says Redrow. What public and how many have been asked?
Affordable housing, an anomaly. No such thing exists.
Shared mortgages maybe, but otherwise ,no.
I have seen it in my area with people who work and the only ones selling are the shared mortgage ones.
THE FAST SELLERS ARE THE TERRACED HOUSES BUILT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 20TH CENTURY-IF ONE CAN GET THERE BEFORE THE LANDLORDS WHO BUY THEM UP FAST TO LET AT EXHORBITANT RENTS.
