I vaguely remember one of those huge gas supply tanks in Stratford during the early 1980s, but disappeared during that decade. Being young at the time, I don't really remember it but I think it was situated in the Alcester Road / Timothys Bridge Road (ie somewhere behind the railway station as you head out of town) area.
Does anyone else remember it? If so, it would be great if you could post some history / pictures of the gas works.

Thanks,
Lex
