Dear All,
I realise some people may take um bridge at me speaking about strays in Bulgaria as we have enough of our own here. The thing is we have legislation here to protect and provide for ours ; they don't in Bulgaria. Well, they do but it isn't enforced. They shoot people in Bulgaria so why would they hesitate to shoot Dogs and Cats and any other animal for that reason? Actually , they don't hesitate, they do it.I don't wish to offend anyone. I am just wanting to raise awareness for the BSAPP who work tirelessly to educate people and rescue.
Please see the link below- it relates to the BSAPP. This is a charity that rescues dogs and cats and re homes them. The vet who oversees the medical situation does so on an on call 24 hour basis and he expects no pay for doing so. He is often called out to deal with run over or shot dogs who are left bleeding to death or those who have been poisoned. If you then go to the 'successes' button and scroll down, you will see my Tiggi- I rescued her last September and she is the most wonderful family member. Because of copy write I cannot give you the link to an article she is featured in for the magazine Dogs Monthly for the May issue but if you subscribe to it and have the issue - look at it and the article about the plight of Bulgaria's stray street dogs is there- Tiggi is at the foot of page 1.I cannot stress enough that if you have a need for a new dog or a companion to one you already own, yes- do look at the strays in our centres but also please look at some of those waiting for ? death in Bulgaria!!!(Sorry- but it is true)
