You have searched high and low for something that you put in a safe place and infuriatingly, you cannot locate it at a later date and some bright spark asks the question..

"What did you do with it?"

Sometimes I wonder if it occurs to the person asking the question that if you actually knew or could remember what you did with the item you wouldn't be searching for it or are they simply using the person as a source of entertainment because they are bored and know the question is certain to create a response?

What about some one who has won a major prize or competition, and the reporter asks , "How do you feel- are you happy to have won?"
Do they really think they went in it to deliberately Lose.

Perhaps, mislaying has something more to do with stuff on a deeper level of not wanting to find it at that time- Later, maybe but not right now! Its in a Safe Place and will be ' found' when perhaps its isn't or you are not being pressured for it. This seems to be right for me most times. Stand back and quantify the moment and the level of need for it. Is it your need or another person's need for it?
