Haere mai oldtramper - from a Kiwi in the UK..

I have a done a bit of a search. Any chance Joseph and Elizabeth had children named Benjamin, Mary, Sarrah and Thomas? If so, I do have some information that might be of use to you.

Hi Shizara.
Yes this is my ghost family They were born in Coventry and had a lot to do with St Michaels Church .Joseph was a Carpenter born 1806 and Elizabeth his wife born 1809 were married at Leek Wootton parish 1828.The sticky part is There was a family born and bread in Leek Wootton in the late 1700s and I think he was an illigitimate child of this family but Im lost.Josephs Son Thomas emigrated to New Zealand in 1875 with his wife Clara.
Its too get the English end tied up and as you will know it is difficult from here.
Kind regards

Hi there

Am I right in thinking you also have the 1841 census?

Hi. I have sighted the 1841 census a while ago on anscestry.uk . I am no longer a full member but the family is stated on there as living in Exhall
Joseph being born outside the county ?

Exhall is 5.9 miles from Coventry so it is still in Warwickshire. The census was taken in the Foleshill district which is 3.9 miles from Exhall. Do you have a copy of that census?

oldtramper is right when he says the wizard would not hurt a fly. He is a bit of an icon down there:

Wizard of New Zealand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wizard_of_New_Zealand)

So, if you are visiting Christchurch, pop in to the square, he just might be there.
