Is it just me or do others dislike being accosted by people trying to sell goods or services when you are walking through a town centre and "it will only take a minute" sales pitch? The only bit that "only takes a minute" is the time involved in waylaying you long enough to tell you what a great and beneficial product/service that they have. I guess, a form of cold selling. There will be a percentage who cannot say "no" and finish up signing up or even purchasing when really, they didn't want to at all.

In the last week I have been caught twice in the net of such people in my local town.

Was caught in the sense that they cut across my path to try and stop me to talk about whatever they were trying to sell. I escape fairly quickly but it is still annoying.

I hate Marketing!!! All these flippin surveys to ask customers what they want, any decent businessman knows what his customers want! Direct mail, where a 5% hit rate is considered good? sounds more like a waste of time and paper to me. As for acosting people in the street, wether its for a charity or conventional selling, its a waste of time and they get the short answer from me. Now if they come to my house..... :D

You press a button that plays a recording of a big, hungry, aggressive snarling dog?

I just look at them blankly and carry on walking, i'm very very good at this. They look at me as if i'm mad, but of course I am mad.
