I was asked what geocaching was, so its best to have its own thread.

Geocaching - The Official Global GPS Cache Hunt Site (http://www.geocaching.com) is the definative place to start to look if you decide you want to take a look at Geocaching.

Its a great hobbie, that gets you aout and about "tresure hunting". It's ideal for families and you can do the simpler ones without a GPS, with a bit of local knowledge.

What is it?

Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for gps users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a gps unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache.

To look for your nearest cache take a look at geocaching.com or ask here on the forum for basic tips and more advice. Or you can see all about my very own geocache at Exclusive: First Past The Posts - Midlands Weather Forum - A UK Weather Forum (http://www.midlandsweather.org.uk/general-discussion/2344-exclusive-first-past-posts.html?highlight=geocaching)

There's one in Coventry... Near the Cathedral, apparently.
