iT IS IMPORTANT FOR PEOPLE WHO REPORT 'FINDS'. TO ACCURATELY KNOW WHERE THEY WERE FOUND
The form mentions the grid reference but most people dont know how to find it, so it helps if they know the exact spot. "In one of those fields " or "somewhere along that track" is not what is called very helpful to archaeological records. I do think it an excellent idea but it needs to be made clearer to the layman.
