Exclamation Ring scam

I'm sure you're all too savvy to fall for this, but I heard of someone who nearly fell for this the other day, and then a few days later someone tried it on me.

There are people going round trying to sell rings on the streets (or in my friend's case on the side of a motorway flagging down cars, and pretending his wife is heavily pregnant. They will tell you it's their wedding ring they need to sell, usually for petrol, and will ask anything from £20 - £50 for it. In truth the rings are usually cheap and worthless.

I really wish I'd taken the time to report the guy who asked me to the nearest officer. But then I think they wouldn't have done anything about it anyway.
