Whilst there may be some improvements to public transport there are still many out there who, for whatever reasons, are not able to use it and so need to use their cars to commute be it good for the environment or not.
As for a system that respects our privacy.... I struggle to grasp that one in view of the other proposals such as invasion of our privacy by way of nosey parkers wanting to catalogue so much information about our lives. It isn't about having things to hide it is about the right to some measure of privacy.
