MWF has 15,223 posts 2,854 threads and 118 members, is very heavily modded and still only has a 14mb database. Compare that to 2,797 posts 1,226 threads on WO.
I store a lot of images on this database (many of which are for future projects or side projects which I use this database and forum software for), and that includes any images that are uploaded by members, which isn't much, but I choose to store them in my MYSQL database rather then take up server space.

I verified the connection limit is 18 with 1and1 (ASO has limit of 15) this means effectively 18 people would need to press post at the same time to get a time out. Independent hosting forums have suggested that that limit would be sufficient to host a forum with 120 members online simultaneously.
I'm not sure where you get your info from, but certainly ASO'S MYSQL database has a lot more then 15 connections, and I also know that 1and1's 18 is pitiful. I am aware of these problems from first hand experience, when my TV Production forum started churning out errors because the connection rate was constantly being exceeded. I am now running that same site on ASO with double the membership and non of the errors.

This is all fact that has been verified by Jelsoft, the people who make VBulletin, and is also backed up by countless vbulletin users. But don't take my word for it, go to VB own forum and look at the hosting section. You will find hundreds of posts also verfying what I say.
